The flow coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of the Cath & EP Labs. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring optimal patient care delivery while maintaining essential procedural flow through the department. The coordinator is responsible for staffing assignments, scheduling of procedures, collaborating with physicians to coordinate procedure times, and collaborating with receiving unit & bed Control to ensure proper patient placement post procedure. The flow coordinator will work under the direction of the Cath Lab Clinical Coordinator or the EP Lab Clinical Coordinator and Department Director. The flow coordinator actively works to support WellStar in achieving its mission and goals, foster communication & collaborative practice, and serve as a role model to promote a professional image and expert clinical practice
Required Minimum Education
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in the state of Georgia and/or graduate from an accredited radiologic technology school or Cardiovascular Technician program with current registration and/or equivalent experience. National Certification or Registry in specialty preferred.
BCLS and ACLS provider.
Required Minimum Experience:
Cath Lab Flow Coordinator-Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience with Interventional cardiac procedure experience preferred.
EP Lab Flow Coordinator-Minimum 2 years EP Lab experience
Required Minimum Skills
Excellent communication skills. Ability to work closely with physicians and clinical staff. Diplomatic delegation skills are required. Has ability to prioritize. Must be able to assess staff skill level in order to make appropriate assignments. Ability to function well in stressful and emergency situations is essential. The ability to multi-task is essential. Has strong customer service & interpersonal skills. Must be able to coordinate inter and intra-department patient care activities. Able and willing to provide procedural support as needed. Personal time management skills are required.
Cath Lab Flow Coordinator -Extensive knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
EP Lab Flow Coordinator-Extensive knowledge of electrophysiology studies and device implantation.
