Valley View Medical Center Document Imaging Specialist in Columbus, Georgia

Responsible for the retrieval, sorting and preparation, scanning and archiving of all loose paperwork generated by clinical services during the patient’s hospital stay or outpatient encounter. The Scanning & Archiving Specialist assures that the correct documents are properly identified and scanned into the patient’s permanent electronic medical record and that there are no unnecessary duplications or unreadable digital documents. The Scanning & Archiving Specialist is responsible to help assure the patient’s electronic medical record is readable, accurate, and complete and that no inappropriate document is scanned into a permanent medical record.

Minimum Education: High School diploma required

Minimum Work Experience: At least one-year experience in an acute healthcare setting, preferred.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

· Ability to maintain high-level productivity and above-average quality work in a demanding environment while displaying professional composure and confidence.

· Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communications with fellow employees, the medical staff and general public.

· Ability to accurately and efficiently operate personal computer and word-processing equipment and easily learn to operate scanning and archiving equipment and software as well as general office machines.

· Good communication skills – both speaking and writing. Some familiarity with medical terminology helpful and desirable.
